He did my exhaust. Turned out great! No complaints. Look forward to having him do my intake manifold here soon.

I need a test pipe built for me if you can do it...

It would need it to bolt right up to where my stock midpipe sits....

It would be a replica of my midpipe without the cats...

This is pretty much it... I would just need 2 pipes (not connecting like in the photo)

MacDrizzle

e2blade
04-15-2009, 04:15 PM
Hey E2 i can do those parts for you. No problem. Do you want a two hole flange or a three? I am assuming you would like to go with a donut style. I'll find out how much the pipe and parts will run you?

it goes from a 2 hole to a 3 hole
i have a 3" downpipe, wanna see if we can use it, its for a 2g dsm

InSepsis
04-15-2009, 04:41 PM
So can you make the midpipe if I bring it to you or is that a no? Depending on how cheap you can get it done I will be willing to have you make one... or just cut out the cats/resonators and build flanges on my current midpipe and on the midsection.

http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n413/InSepsis/test.jpg

This would be the easiest way to go about it... sorry about crappy sketch but I did it at work. I want the cats cut out and flanges put so I can mount them back in for street use... and the same thing with the test pipe.... I just want to be able to bolt it back on in the middle and use it as needed...

or just get a whole new pipe from header to muffler to replicate my current midpipe without the cats.

Can you give me an idea of what you would charge me for either one of the 2 ? at least an approximation so I can see if I can go through with it or not...

You... I don't think t2c does much fabrication and welding...

no i dont weld...the only part of fabrication i never got involved in. by trade, i am a CNC Programmer. we have over 15 million dollars worth of CNC mills/lathes. i also do all the CNC Programming for the CMM Inspection machines, as well as shared duties of all the IT bullshit around here. i can fabricate ANYTHING...but i leave the welding up to the guys with a steady hand.

Here is something I had him weld up for me...
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l131/nodestiny/Minivan/100_2946.jpg?t=1242662306

I tacked it together and had him weld/grind it. It was a total of I think 5-6 separate pieces I cut with a hacksaw ;) So there were some good sized gaps he had to deal with as well. I have ZERO complaints about his welds on this.

DICKARM
05-18-2009, 06:50 PM
^^^^
what does the inside look like tho. is it smooth or did he blow through, fill it, grind to smooth finish. i wanna see pics of some BEADS

NoDestiny
05-18-2009, 09:57 PM
There are some spots where he went through, penetration was good other than that. The beads were thick and consistent. Sorry, I don't have any other pics of this pipe.

MacDrizzle
05-19-2009, 12:04 PM
Lemme get right on welding some beads. When I have some free time i'll post some pics. It will be a bit!

Yea you probably should. I wouldn't mind seeing what your welds look like. Are you certified?

MacDrizzle
11-17-2009, 04:48 PM
I am looking to take on some custom work. I can make custom interior pieces such as dash inserts, dash pieces, trinkets, custom shift knobs.

I have done some custom test pipes as well as custom mufflers from mellow to obnoxious. I will build them to fit the stock location.

I install prebent cages an rollbars with weld or bolt in floor plates, i don't currently have a mandrel bender.

I will build custom fit adjustable strut braces.

Lemme know peoples!

Here is a weld with wirefeed and yes it is a stich weld. Yes I am certified for spray arc, and flux core. Is that good enough?

How much do you want for said bending device, son? Here is the rear tire mount I made for the flatbed. It features..........wait for it........... continuous welds!!!! FTW!!!

Sorry but those welds look like crap. They are super inconsistent and look like cold welds for how thick the metal is. It looks like you are dragging the pool instead of pushing it, I can tell by how the welds are bubbled up in the middle instead of laying down flat

Here is a weld just for you Mr. Arm. I'm sorry I did not remove the dingle berries completly. I'm sure you will find something wrong with this one too though. Ha Ha!!
http://www.garage208.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=8&pictureid=289

DICKARM
11-23-2009, 04:35 PM
Yea that one looks like crap too, your oscilations are really inconsistent. It looks like you started off slow (first inch of the weld) then started speeding up to the point of narrowing out the bead (center where the bead is pinched) then slowed down about the last 2.5 inches of the weld which actually look good. Imagine thar the top edge of the bead had a straight line drawn across it, now compare that to the line made by the edge of the bead.
What welder and settings are you using?

DICKARM
11-23-2009, 04:37 PM
Sorry I'm a weld freak. nice beads=$$$

DICKARM
11-23-2009, 04:40 PM
Crank your welder as high as it will go, get it set, lay down a bead then post a pic. I wanna see how you do on high voltage

DICKARM
11-23-2009, 04:47 PM
Here is a weld I did back in December 07'

.50" inch plate welded to .25" thick 8inch tubing. Short quick oscilations ran verrrry hot. Notice how even the heat transfer is on the plate steel, how clean and neat the bead is and the top and bottom edges of the bead run paralell

DICKARM
11-24-2009, 03:01 PM
Let's see how you do on vertical down running the same heat with the 440

BRINGTHERUCKUS
11-24-2009, 08:23 PM
welds look good dick but i always learned if your makin "v"s your moving too fast, nice consistant "c"s get deep penetration...lol but for reals. not being a smart ass but what is it you think on that?

ex: a bead like the one on top i have always heard is superb and how i have always made mine look

http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n154/violencebreeds/top.jpg

DICKARM
11-24-2009, 09:56 PM
C & V's really have nothing to do with the speed, it's just the way you oscilate.

V's are fine as long as they aren't leafy, or look like they have a serrated edge.

11-25-2009, 05:15 PM
my welds look like shit, i blame the welder. BUT, i am getting a brand new one after we move into our new house, redoing some welds. they dont look pretty, but they are strong. i have some decent ones when the welder worked perfect, but that damn thing is picky and old. 1500 bucks for a new one, yeah, it's worth it.

DICKARM
11-25-2009, 11:19 PM
If I had a couple thousand to blow on a welder I'd find a mig/tig combo and blast beads on metal all day

(blast beads...metal) fuck yea

i am seriously thinking of bending roll bars/ cages for members. we could do a team effort and i can bend them, you can weld them up. further discussions will happen of course, just wait until after i move and get situated. should be a nice setup once ready.
