i did damn good, and got props for it too...hell even chris shultz was giving me props and telling others about the integra just this last sunday. yes it was novice (running against most of the guys that are running IMS now) and there was 36 cars in novice that day (iirc) lets crank your car up to 500whp put it on regular street tires, and see how well you do, oh mighty autox'er. :nuts:

Not a large rim diameter. It is stretching a skinner tire (not profile) in order to fit a wheel with a wider width. Some people like the look of a wide wheel with a low offset. So, in order to go low and still fit the rim, you stretch a skinner tire. It is just a style that is popular in some scenes.

Some people are just hard headed and would rather argue than accept it for what it is. It is a style. Some people like it and some dont. Not everyone has the goal of making their car completely performance oriented. It could be compared to anything such as the following:
-show cars that have over the top motor, brake, and wheel setups that will never see actual street use
-lowriders and cruisers that are meant for just that... cruising
-wearing a hat backwards... the whole purpose of a hat is to block the sun... yet some people wear them backwards because they like the way it looks

It would... I wouldn't recommend it myself but I have seen people do a lot more. I have stretch on my front so I can turn without too much scraping, but in the rear I have almost no stretch for more grip :)

Sounds unsafe to me. Sidewalls are built for a certain load and driving surface. Stretching isn't using the sidewall in the way it was built. To me, my life is worth more then looking cool therefore I would save $ and get the proper tires. Or are there certain tires designed for stretching?

I've seen a 165/50-15 on a 15x9 and a 205/35-17 on a 17x10. Those were MASSIVELY stretched, and I would NOT recommend driving on those. But Scott's stretch is just about perfect.
