If you have a DirecTV system and don't want to pay the $80 to get it fixed. I'll probably only charge about $25 for fuel and time to come and check out your system and get it fixed.

If you just need a box moved or a Flatscreen mounted i can do that as well.

I also have cool $50 for me and $50 for you cards for new customers. I can probably answer simple system questions here as well.

Do you know anything about the Quest packages? Right now I'm paying $39.99 for the internet but considered getting the TV service as well. If for some reason it's cheaper with phone service I'd get that too, but I don't need it. DVR is a must.

Unless this isn't the type of question you were talking about.

Yes, you can bundle through quest and I think you get 1 free DVR and each additional reciever is $5 a month extra and of course installation is free. I only know so much about the quest bundles though, infact if polishpat jumps in here i'm sure he can give you the skivvy on it. Also we only install 3 receivers in our market and we're kinda lucky because of it.

1. HD Receivers (this is our standard box here)
2. DVR Receivers
3. HD DVR Receivers

So you will be getting free hd boxes for your normal boxes and I've herd that you call in and complain about the small grey bars on the tops and the bottoms on our DVR boxes (they're our only box that wont reformat the image to stretch) then you can get a free HD DVR that they'll just send out to you. So you're getting a couple hundred dollars worth of upgraded recivers for free.

I saw that PM when i looked at the meet info for fast and the furious. I hadn't been on IMS for about 3 months. If i'd seen it i would have been happy to come over and help.

I haven't joined the elitist HDTV club yet. I feel foolish for asking this next question but since I don't know... Do I need to get a non-HD receiver for it to work? I would think so since my TV isn't widescreen right? Or can I get the HD receiver to avoid these gray bars your talking about?

Why is it I pay for high def channels, yet I only get a small handful? None of the major channels, like ABC and Fox are included in that... makes me very very sad.

Our locals are now coming in in hi def. do you have 2 dishes on your house and if so does one of them say slimline on it?

You can use a high def receiver with any TV

i get the local channels in HD. and i dont have the HD package yet. just skiming through the HD channels, looks like you might get 40-50 channels if you get the HD package....

also i have a slimline dish in my shed that cosmo105 gave me if someone wants it, its brand new in the box.

I'm looking to switch from Cableone over to Direct once I can get a chance to watch all my recordings to clear off the DVR's. It sucks you can't transfer them off the DVR unless you hook them up to a VCR and do it that way.

I plan on going with the Qwest Phone/internet/Sat. package and getting the HD DVR, a DVR, and the basic box.

lol, I live in BFE! We dont get regular TV round these parts ;) Hell, I don't even get 100.3 unless I go down the road a mile or two! We live to far up the hill for it.

nope, just one dish.

You can still get our locals in high def there. Infact if you have the slimline dish and you get our locals off your main dish then you should be getting them in high def. If your receivers aren't all high def (minus standard DVR's) then you are eligible for a FREE upgrade.

Also did you check to see if your dish said slimline on it? It should look exactly like this:

2 things I thought of that drive me crazy

A long time ago, it used to be 3 buttons to change the channel. Now its 4. Or hit 3 and "enter" or whatever... I hate it. How can I go back to hitting 3 numbers to hit a channel instead of 0### or ### enter?

Is there a way to just rid of the channels I DONT have? I hate skipping over 50% of the stations when surfing when I dont even get em....

if you go into the channel settings and set up "custom 1" you can delete all the channels you dont get and only leave the ones you do get...i have mine setup that way...it takes some work setting all the channels but its well worth it to only look at the channels you want lol

and bcool if you have a use for the slimline dish i have, you can have it...its just taking up space in my shed.

If you have DVR service its good for the entire account. Same with HD service. But yeah.. each box you get you still have to pay the extra money to keep that box active. Correct me if im wrong.
