View Full Version : Engine/Turbo theory discussion forum.
I would like to see an area where engine ant turbo theory can be discussed. As in Bore v. Stroke, LSA, EBR, CR, A/R etc.

sounds like a good idea, lets see if anyone else is on board, and we could put in the Tech Section...
as long as we dont argue DEI

maybe a subforum of the tech section?
the only problem i foresee is the wide range of vehicles here. these types of sections work really well on vehicle specific forums, but there's just too may different cars here. and unless we had a separate thread for each different motor, information and misinformation could easily get mixed up.
just my $.02

I think it would be an awesome section. Maybe it could be manufacturer specific.

i dont see enough people using it yet, but if it gets that way we can manage the treads around

Yeah, I agree. Possibly when the site gets bigger.

I think its a good idea. Also have the OP State what turbo or motor he is talking about.
Motor Theory has nothing to do with that name is on the motor.

There's a lot of different theory for different motors. Stating what motor you have gives the reader and idea. IMO
I think it'd be a good section, as for vehicle-specific vs. generic, if it's truly about engine/turbo theory, that remains true in all IC engines. Forced induction is primarily forced induction. Cylinder head design is cylinder head design. Do manufacturers differ, of course but physics, thermodynamics, etc... aren't manufacturer specific and thus neither are good design theories.

Northend,
A 1.6l Honda motor makes power the same way a 8.0l V8 makes power and the same way any other 4 stroke motor makes power. Granted all things other then displacement the same, the 8 L will make five times the power then the 1.6L.

I think we're not on the same page. Its ok. I say sure why not. Add it.
i would be for it as long as rotaries are EXCLUDED, they are not motors, they are a plague on the world

Hahaha. You made a funny.

Well, lots of motor theory doesn't apply to them.
