Nice. I have a soft spot for the ford power plant - So easy to work on, cheap parts, and one of the best sounding cammed idles in my opinion.

Dyno at: Performance Solutions. Shot under 300whp no tune at 4800rpm, Max rpm is around 6200. We ended up calling it quits after a baseline pull because of 4 bent pushrods on the passenger side. We now have longer and stronger 3/8 pushrods on order to solve this problem.

I was reading through the list of mods and almost choked on my beer when I read "proform 1500 cfm"

Unless that 347 engine turns 35 gabillion rpms thats twice as much carb as it needs. I built a 68 camaro with a 509 that had a 950 cfm holley HP ( what the proform tries to copy but fails epicly) Nice to see in the pics your ol man went with something smaller

Hey my bad on the carb. I meant 950cfm just a typo!

We pulled the engine this Saturday for inspection. We are going to check the rod and main bearings for unnecessary wear.

We are also going to tap the head freeze holes for pipe plugs. The head factory used steel freeze plugs in aluminum heads. Is this dumb? I think so. At the Nightfires we lost two of those plugs, so we spent the next day fixing the problem by staking the new ones and JB Welding them in.

Tapping and adding plugs with dope shall fix this problem.

We are also swapping the rear gear ratios from 4.88 to 4.57s. We'll see if the trap speeds increase a bit!
