Wheel Vinyl - the latest JDM trend from TAS 2009!

So, the newest trend in Japan is vinyl print graphics on wheel lips! I dig it, big time! But I kinda doubt it will catch on here, which is probably a good thing. I don't expect many of you to like it, but I think some of the JDM purists will appreciate it at least.

kinda cool actually, but i dont really see it being practical for a dd or every dayer... maybe a purpose built car like drift or grip... somethin where you are repping a group and that your "stand out thing"

i mean think about it, show cars and group cars there seem to use quite abit more intricate vinal or paint schemes to rep their groups and companies.... i think thats the big thing that never caught her... we still have the be as clean and not so eccentric vehicle look here... they have stuff like that and the bosuko(sp) cars... now that i think of it though, its kinda like our rat rod style here, they have nothing like that- to my knowledge

I would like to see a car that has no graphics on it at all and just the wheel vinyls. With the right design it would look pretty good possibly

I would do this and put terminator style with skulls and skeletons on the vinyl.

I like the side that has the darker gray pattern but the flowery side just isn't working for me. I saw this on the "real JDM" blog a while back but was scared to share. haha

That would be a pain in the ass to keep clean and looking nice but if done correctly would definitely look wickedly awesome and something you wouldn't see every day.

reminds me of those rims lexani had/has with the ostridge skin inserts. i think it looks cool but i doubt id be able to afford it.
