well I took my rusted nasty battery tray out of my car today... and what I found under it was not good...
Basically I will nee to replace the piece of sheet metal under where the battery goes...
So if there is anyone out there that knows how or knows someone that can fix this I would greatly appreciate it..
I am kind of looking for a homie hookup...I don't mind paying for work but I have a strict budget and this just wasnt something I planned for...
I would venture to say it would take about an hour to replace the piece...
anyways here is a pics of the damage let me know what you guys think...

Is it rusted all the way through or just more of a surface rust? In the pics it just looks like surface rust to me. They make rust converters that wll stop it from rusting any more . It is a pic however. Take a look here: http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=15974&itemType=PRODUCT
There are lots. I just posted up that one because I new where it was.
Good luck

Yea, i dont really see any flaking, or holes so i think you should be able to grind it, and use some rust converter, then prime and paint that spot. If it was rusting through, that would be more than an hour to cut and weld.

Trim out the bad sections, use some rust-mort, lets cut a patch panel and I will bring the mig over and weld it up. Paint it with POR 15...... never think about it again.

If you want to get really cheap, use an old license plate for a patch panel. They wont rust. Seen it done for floorboards and such. LOL

If your looking to replace just that bottom flat panel, it shouldnt be too much work.
Cut it out, prep the edges, trim a piece to fit, spot weld, paint.
I could help if you need it.

I have extra just sitting in my garage. You can pick up bigger sheets at Metal Supermarket or head over a Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, etc for a smaller sheet.
