Anyone do this for cheap and possibly for a hobby?

Got a few quotes from some body shops today and the prices blew me out of the water, had no idea my little damage would cost me nearly as much as they said it would. Got my eye on one shop that can do it for a pretty good price but still seems a little spendy.

Anyways, lookin to see if anyone could hook it up or if anyone knew anybody that could.

Kinda have to agree with gordy on this one. Unless you have a friend that is willing to put in the time on the body work its going to cost you. The reason bodywork and paint cost so much is the amount of labor it takes to do it. They're not trying to rip you off they're just charging for their many many hours of work.

Describe your vehicle's damage please? I'd be willing to help out, if it's swapping out parts or doing a little welding, but I'm not a pro at color matching.

Almost everytime I see someone get a friend to help them they regret it later. If the cars a turd and you don't take any pride in it then rattle can it your self. But if the car is a good car and just needs matching fender, ect, then why not do it right the first time?

Seriously, a shop is worth the money. And if you go to a reputable one, like custom works, they can cater to your wants/needs. Not to mention, they have excellent customer service.

I've had work done by gordon (DECON) and I will definitly be going there again when it comes time to finish my car.
