Unless you can still buy the shit in Mexico converting would probably be a lot cheaper. Prices went through the roof the moment they quit manufacturing it, which if I'm not mistaken was well over 10 years ago.

I don't know I see ads on CL all the time for R12 re-charge and its not horrible But I can vouch for any of them
When I called to see what it would cost to convert my LS it was 300+ dollars..
So maybe do some calling and see what you come up with..

I'm in AZ, only reason I'm messing with AC is because I'm about to sell it ergo my lack of desire to spend too much money. The freon is going on ebay for $10+ a bottle.
