Brian (Spastik) and I were talking about this style of cars in Japan. I am not sure how I feel about it but its interesting and kinda funny to say the least.

Some of these cars I really dig except the exhausts. The pikachu looking mini vans scare me as well as the scions. The other cleaner cars take function >flash to a whole new level lol

The van style is called "vanning" or "Vanning-zoku"...out of the cars above that represent bosozoku the most are the last car. Bosozoku cars are mimic and overly exaggerated cars styled after 60's and 70's japanese race cars.

Yeah, the xb was in supersteet a while back. It said it took him two years and a bunch of trail and error to get it right. I wish I had interior pics cuz its pretty intense.

I agree but I think it is all considered bosozoku. It is definitely evolving from what it used to be but people always take things to a new level. Also, you have to take into consideration that some of those cars aren't actually in japan so the owners aren't going to have the same take on what the Japanese owners would. I dunno, I think its interesting but I don't really like it too much.

Well if they are going for the old skool jap race cars look then that is why. Old race cars had oil coolers mounted like that and so they are just copying it but don't need it so they don't hook them up. Does anyone know if they even touch the engines in these cars or is it all show?
