Alright, so I got the spacers finished to mount the turbo, compressor housing off. Go to put the turbo on and as it turns out I need to clock the turbine housing too... either that or deal with a drain that isn't pointing straight down. I CAN NOT get the stupid thing to budge with the retaining plates off. I've tried heating up the turbine housing with a propane torch, it's been soaking for a few days in liquid wrench, I've tried brake clean around the joint of the turbine housing and center cartridge.... still wont budge.

Anyone have any ideas and/or how terrible of an idea would it be to just run it with the drain about 60 degrees off of vertical? I know it's not ideal but the feed side is still under pressure, it'll make its way down. Thoughts?

Thanks

Does it have the two plates with 3 bolts each?? It sounds pretty seized up, try using PB blaster instead of the liquid wrench. I've had better results.

If it was me, I'd beat the shit out of it with a lead shot mallet

It's the two plates with 3 bolts. I've been using a rubber mallet but I can't really get it in the vice hard enough and I keep beating it out of the vice. I'll have to run and grab a can of pb blaster and see if that does the trick. I'll snap a pic or two later tonight if I remember.
