I'm hoping to go to California tomorrow to pick up a '58 VW Bus. I'm getting some more pics of the Bus this afternoon, just to make sure it's not TOOOO rusty, but pretty set on getting this one. I have a truck available to me already, but he says it only gets about 8mpg towing, which will cost me about $600 in gas round trip. I'm hoping that someone here has a truck that will get 12mpg or so, hopefully even a little better than that, that they would be cool with letting me borrow for about a day and a half. Thanks

how much would it be to have it shipped vs. costs of transporting yourself

It'll be about the same for me to get it if I use the truck that's available to me right now (8mpg). If I can find a truck that's better, it'll be cheaper for me to do it. Also, it doesn't have a motor in it or anything, I don't think there are many transport companies that will transport non-driving cars.

Well he said it gets about 12mpg normally, but when towing it gets about 8-9.
