Seperate Tech articles into Make/Model

Just like the title states, the tech articles should be seperated at least by car make. Make it a lot more organized in the future.

I have a lot of articles that i have collected related to NISSAN and the 240sx specifically that i would love to share...

Yep.

Plus the fact most sites like DSMtuners, 240sxmotoring, etc, all have their own individual tech article sections. No use in providing local articles here actually, most of us know where to get our information needed for our individual cars and models - BIG forums, not local forums. No offense, just a thought.

Yeah, I'm all for this idea, BUT! Only once the Tech Writeup section starts to get busier, and for lack of better verbiage, out of control... Then it would make sense to organize it, but it's pointless to create sub-forums, say for i.e. Dodge vehicles (Just sticking to MAKE sorting), if there are no Dodge writeups, yknow

As soon as there is a need for seperate makes, we will sort them for it.

As for taking other writeups, i recommend against it, for 2 reasons:

Original content will give reasons for people to come here
The writeups would be considered stolen since its another persons work, unless you got written permission for us to post it in there

I definately didnt mean to steal it. I just mean its easier for me to jump on dsmtuners (large site) and search for it, then to search around all these smaller local forums for an answer.

I do believe in the original content, no problem with that, but Id like to see things like "How to get racing in the local SCCA" or "How to pass tech at Firebird". Things of that nature.

if anyone is willing to make a write up. go for it! and then we will put it in the writeups section for everyone to read.. which will make this community grow.

i agree on the separation. but once again there's nothing in that section yet. next time i tear down my suspension ill be sure to write up also. good suggestion!

I think separating them is a BAD idea, tech write ups can give people ideas of what to do in their own car regardless of whether the particular article is for their specific car.....


take Shea's for example, moving heater controls to better locate a dvd screen. Some people might not think to do that, and if they dont have a honda (where that article would be filed), may never look at a tech written for one. But the idea can still be applied to many different cars.......

For how small we are right now separation will just make seem everything empty and spaced out. Once we have a true need for specific sections then I think it'll be a good idea to break it down.
