I know that any of that have owned a Honda know that you can dent the sheet metal even by slapping your wang againts it. I hate it and I am constantly worried about door dings ect.

So I have a nice new dent pattern in my passenger fender. I have seen this many times before and I have come to the conclusion that its body flex that causes it. I have a full suspension set up and I can take corners pretty hard, but I don't have any tie bars, tower ect. So Im guessing that when I took that hard ass right yesterday thats what cause these dent in my fender.

Can any of you contest to this?

That sucks man. That's all I got. Geo and Isuzu fenders are pretty thin steel too. But I've never heard of them getting dented from chassis flex.

I have just about the tightest suspension on the planet and I have taken some hard corners and my fenders are fine...I will say that I have plenty of door dings and it seems that they are multiplying daily (bums me out) but that is all.

I know what you're talking about. My friend had a late 90's accord. We accidently dented the front fenders by pushing down on it. It almost reminds me of thin layers of sheet metal stacked on top of eachother.

x2.

As paperthin as import sheetmetal is, the car would be more likely stressdent stock than modified. Only time Ive seen dents like that is from severe accidents or on trucks that contort heavily offroad.

Im with the some irrisponsible fuckhead hit and run your car scenario.

for this to happen and be suspension related, your whole chassis would have had to bend. I know this can happen to subarus if the front fender braces are removed. the front of the car can bow, like a truck frame between the cab and bed.

i know exactly what you are talking about. when i first bought my 240 the rear quarter panels were straight as an arrow with no dents at all.

soon after i installed my coils and sway bars, i started noticing a deformation of the rear quarters. i didnt think anything of it until i started hearing loud POPs, as if someone was slapping my car. i finally figured it out when i had my cousin stick his head out the window and watch the 1/4 panel. if i took a corner hard, the center of the panel would dent in all on its own and pop back out after i straightened out.

it freaked my out so i started adding some bracing in the back such as the cage and an X brace that connects the C pillars down to the rear strut towers. it solved the problem but now my rear 1/4 panels are all wavy and look like shit.

Thats insane. I would have never guessed. I know unibody cars do weird shit, but Ive never heard of that before.

I know being lowered and going into nasty angled driveways I hear weird shit pop and whatnot, but Ive never received damage from any of the noise.

Strut bars, pillar bars, and harness bars do help with this...

yes, soon as i added all the bracing and such, it went almost 99% away. except when im in a nasty incline.

it used to be so bad that my interior light would turn on because the trigger in the door jam would be turned on.
