Emilee and I were talking a bunch today cuz I haven't seen her in a week and we were joking around about G208 and IMS and laughing at all the drama and what some people choose to do to their cars...
And we got on the topic of how she doesn't have any pics of her car, so jokingly I suggested she should trust a $35,000 car in my hands and I'll go out and take some fun pics for her... ...And she was ok with it...
So yeah, Jserman. I'm going on a fun joy ride this weekend and probably snapping a few pics for Emilee and I'll put some up here for shits and giggles...
By the way, Scott. A slammed E36. Man, I've never seen one of those before.

hahaha How true How true! That's probably why she has no problem with me driving it... I laughed my ass off when she made a point of telling me several times not to let Mirko drive it though HA!

Let's see:
1. They look good.
2. They have a comfortable ride.
3. They have PLENTY of power when you need it.
4. They do not rattle and shake when you drive them.
5. They are reliable.
6. You can carry more than two people in comfort when going out.
You right, they are nothing like a riced out car that is all motor and rattles for days. Someday, when you grow up, you will get it.

So, for the euros it just comes natural but for the japs they try too hard?
I don't think so. Way to hop on the band wagon with all your friends. When you sell your car...buy a bmw.

What bandwagon? Because one person has a bmw? I wasn't even talking about bmws but with those, mercedes, audi, etc. acura and lexus don't even come close that's why they aren't competitors except for maybe a 1 series or c class base model luxury cars. you crazy.

You must have owned a lot of cars to cast judgement like this!

I can respect that opinion.
I think the Japanese (Acura in particular) do a fine job on 95% of the car. We owned a 2003 Acura CL Type S and loved it. My only complaint is that they just won't go to RWD. I like the idea SH-AWD although I haven't driven a car with it yet. In winter conditions, I am sure the FWD is an asset compared with RWD, but the rest of the year, during the autoX season and such, RWD is just more fun.
Yes, I have driven both types of drive in autoX conditions.

Not to mention way more power and features, acuras top model doesn't even compare to mercedes mid class.

Ummm... You're comparing the '09 TL SH-AWD Mid-Size Sedan, to a '10 e550 Full-Size Executive Sedan...
It's like trying to compare the Volvo s40 to the s80 or even the BMW 3series to the 7series...
But I know where you're coming from with Euros doing it better when it comes to luxury cars, but I wouldn't necessarily classify the TL Type-S as a Luxury car... It's just extremely sporty...
Even though I will always go with a Euro, I still really like the TL Type-S... It's gorgeous.
nikuman
08-07-2009, 04:01 PM
That's what I meant they're not in the same class for a reason, japanese luxury cars only compete with each other or maybe a base model euro one. I didn't mean to shit on your parade I don't dislike acura or lexus but everyone's trying to say they compare to euro ones and they don't.
polishpat
08-07-2009, 04:03 PM
Well the TL Type-S has something no Euro can compete with...

where in the fuck are the pictures???!!!??
Something I like about Euro lux cars is that they are cuomfotable and quiet and are AWESOME about 100mph. I haven't driven a lexus that fast, so I can't say which is better.

Both those cars are ugly as fuck.
And Id much rather work on a japanise car than a euro any day of the week. Them Euros just build shit the hard way. Not knocking thier quaility, just thier frame of mind when designing.

Yeah I know what you mean.
I had to change out both my right stop bulb and secondary headlamp bulb, and it took me all of literally 30 seconds to do both.
Whereas in the civic I had, I had to unscrew the casing of both the rear and front and go through that whole process. Probably almost 30 MINUTES. ...Mirko remembers changing my headlight with me on the civic.
Yeah. Fucking Euro design. Don't know what they're doing. Assholes. :crossjerk:

Thats the funiest thing Ive ever seen. New cars dont need work, fucking please. There are no cars in existance that dont ever need work.

BRAND NEW cars. Like '07-'09 don't need anything done to them.
Usually for the first four years they are totally fine, but that is why there are four year warranties. Because issues start to arrise around the 4th or 5th year.
You guys are confusing 'work' as in 'how long does it take to work on something' versus 'work' as in 'how often something needs to be worked on because of an issue'
nikuman
08-10-2009, 09:20 PM
How many of you have ever had a new car? Shit's warranted forever and if it's a decent car nothing needs replaced before 60k miles. You drive them and change the oil.
RunninWild
08-10-2009, 09:51 PM
how many luxury cars have you driven?
Euro lux cars have better handling and are more sport oriented while the lexus brand is geared more towards being a comfortable ride. Personally if I am buying a luxury car the last concern for me is how my boat will handle and to others that may be a concern so to each his own. Just driving my old ass lexus I know that lexus makes quality built cars and the new ones are packed with just as much luxury as euros for a lower price.
