On my car i had a mail in tune from a company called sqr thats based outta some eastern state. these mail in tunes usually work great for saabs, but this one is frankly shit. The reason i say this is that this tune is set up to ignore CEL's and has all emissions checks turned off, im assuming to cover up shitty tuning. When i bought the tune they told me it will pass emissions fine and be reliable. Come to find out when i had emissions due last month it didnt even run emissions checks. So i had to put in a stock ecu ($70) and my car passes with flying colors but starts throwing codes left and right for bad o2 sensor.
now the tune I ordered also had the CEL turned off so i had no idea the sensor was bad and could be the reason i have gone through two fule pumps (total of roughly $500) in less then a year.
So my question is what should i do with the tune? and should i push for a refund? and can i take this be taken to court anyway?

I hate to say it, but you get what you pay for.

You can ask for a refund, and if they don't give it back, you can take them to court. If they told you that it was fine, and would work, and it doesn't, then you can get your money back.

these are easterners, they dont understand responsiblity very well...How are you more responsible then they are? You are the one trying to cheat emissions. You can ask for a refund but they dont have to give it to you. What are you going to do if they dont refund you? Take them to court and tell the judge you were trying to cheat the emissions test? I know a lot of eastern states dont even have emissions. They dont here in the Carolinas. Best of luck to you in getting the refund though. This is Dac btw.

where did i said i was cheating emission? did you even read the thread? The emissions guy wasnt getting ANY readings from the emissions systems meaning it was shut off. it would be differnt if i actually failed emissions, which i never did. He got zero carb readings from my access port, not failed readings... and if i pass emissions before i put a tune in, then suddenly cant even get emissions systems read means that i should change the most recent mod to my car right? and what was that? the ecu... so i put a stock ecu back in and my car passes emissions again. so logically the ecu is causeing me not to pass emissions, which the company promiced there product would do. so they sold a shit product, right? or is my logic off?

How is he trying to cheat emissions? lol re-read...
Logic is on, if it came down to it you could most likely win in court.

UPDATE:
so some awesome news. (well big news for me)
I was complaing about this on a saab forum, basically trying to warn others of this product. On the thread i was posting, Nick Taliaferro of Genuinsesaab.com and frankly the top tuner of saabs in the US, he currently hold the 1/4 mile record of a 11.7 in his (base model yes dj if you are spy'ing, base model) saab 900 and a 500hp500trq viggen, decided to help me out and just told me to send the ecu in and he will fix it up for me. So the ecu got to him today and hopefully my car will be a 300hp beast again soon and running solid with emissonspassingCEL'ing goodeness. I'm so stoked about this and give mad props to nickT for being one of the most stand up businessman i have ever worked with. And yes if your wondering, most of the parts on my car came straight from his shop.

great to hear, sounds like he is stepping up to the plate
so the tune, was it from his shop? or is he covering for another shop, which in that case i would never do business with anyone but him

nope i got this tune from a company called sqr, NickT calls his tunes Nordic, completely differnt shop's. And Yes i am a pretty loyal customer to Nick's shop and rarely buy stuff from differnt shops. I also often kick my self for not getting the tune from him in the first place but now i wont have to anymore :D
