So since I got my car it's been running extremely rich, I need to find out why.

I have a few ideas but I'm not too sure.

Few things that make CA's rich:
-Bad Knock Sensor- rich under 3k rpm usually, mines fine. ECU doesn't pull any codes either.
-Walbro overriding factory FPR. sometimes it happens, I might be the occasion.
-Dirty MAF, haven't checked yet.
-Something electrical.

Stock engine.
FMIC, full exhaust, no cats. I'm always smelling gas to the point of it becoming a decent issue. I have no idea why it is running so rich. Could it be the lack of cats? Just needs tuned? I wouldn't think a stock engine would be so bad. I need a wideband for sure. Maybe a fuel controller too, but I think there is something larger than it just needing tuned. Any help would be appreciated.

im pretty new to the whole maf thing....but from what ive been told (and recently from my experiences) if your running any type of K&N style filter, the oil from the filter clings to the maf and results in a very rich running car. if anything i would take it out and spray it with some maf cleaner (shmucks has some) im sure it will help, may not entirely cure it though. i dont know if you have done any intake/exhaust mods...but that will also make it run rich.

also maybe think about a good injector cleaner, i am going to try the lucas oil stuff this weekend on my car, supposed to be good shiz.

i have turbo back straight pipe basically and a filter right before the maf going into the inlet for the turbo. i'm gonna clean it and give it a shot.

so i was doing some research and grabbed three mafs that i had lying around when derek got the car. one of which is from a ca18det. it's sitting on the desk in front of me and not on the car. i'm gonna go find out what is one the car. maybe n60 or z32. hmmmm.

the maf on the car is from a sohc ka24e, which is typical for most d00ds running ca's. all i need is a wideband and safc II. emissions will be good...power will be better...eyes won't water. happy josh.

are you running a recirculating valve for the bov or just having it blow off into the atmosphere?

atmosphere, ca's never had bov's in the first place.
