The Z gets a facelift!

Well, many of you have seen this already, but for those who haven't, here's the latest work on the Z. I wanted to give it more of a JDM feel, and I've wanted to do this for a long time. When I first got the hood, this was part of the plan, just took me a while to get it done. If anyone wants the whole story of what this means and why I did it, I'll tell it, otherwise I'll just let the pics speak for themselves.

Let me know what you all think. As always, all opinions are welcome, good and bad. Thanks to Josh Wolfe for the shots, and thanks to everyone for looking.

It's not so much a story as much as an explanation I guess. As most of you know, I'm a JDM fanboy, and I've really gotten into all things Japanese. In Japan, the cherry blossoms are called Sakura and they represent the transient nature of life. Basically, they are symbolic of life being short, but beautiful, b/c the blossoms only last a short time. I wanted something meaningful, that would also bring out the JDM style in my car, and give my car a real centerpiece, something unique that sets it off. I think I got it right.

Zeals...no. I would love to, but I just can't justify spending the money for a coilover that is way beyond what I would ever need.

Coilovers...yes! That will most likely be my next purchase, and I've started getting prices and researching. Now's the hard part, I have to save up the scratch so I can afford them! I'm hoping for June.

Scott, there are of course plenty of good aero options, and that's something I'll look into, but most likely not soon. As with everyone else, things are tight for me these days too, but I do have a couple of options up my sleeve, so we'll see!

his current venture is called SkullShells. Custom airbrushed welding masks. Him and another friend of mine Tony, make some killer, KILLER, welding masks.

yes, i was the VP of Severed when Tony and I brought the club to Idaho. (we were also roomates at the time) tony preps the helmets and sells them, and Chris paints them. Pirate Customz was the name of Tony's shop....i do believe he is still working out of his garage...its been a year or so since ive talked to Tony, but my best friend is Tony's nephew so he keeps me up on how Tony is doing.

You must mean Chris Hiroto, right dietz? He is a good friend of Tristan's (fiero2thamaxx), and definitly a badass artist. I still see that green crx rolling around with the crazy design on the side he did a long ass time ago (back in the power extreme days)

I have spent many a drunken night in Tristan's driveway with Chris and his sister Kim, both are awesome to hang out with and all around cool ass people.

On a side note, those masks belong on the wall, not being used in a shop - Chris does ridiculous art...

"Airbrush Chris" is how i have always refered to him. and yes he is waaaay cool people. that paint job on that crx is actually the 2nd edition. the first time he painted it, it was blue and he did it in his driveway lolz. He painted it green when him and Tony started getting into painting cars (Airbrush Chris hadn't painted any cars until i introduced him to Tony) Tony's car was the first car ever to be featured in Mini Truckin, and Airbrush Chris also painted another local civic that was featured in another magazine (chis sorensons purple graphic'd coupe) He also painted tyson vogels Jeep that was featured in some jeep magazine

gotta remember that car was painted around 00-01 as where the civic and jeep i posted...these cars absolutely cleaned house at car shows, and obviously were featured in magazines....still a feat that nobody around here has duplicated.....

Tyson's jeep was a common topic of discussion in the Eagle Highschool Parking lot (where we both went), and that crx was a car show staple back in the day. Chris has definitly got talent....
